Election Day Tuesday -- Early Voting Turnout Strong

Election Day is tomorrow -- Tuesday, November 3rd and will be held at the Convention Center from 7 o’clock a.m. to 7 o’clock p.m. The Churchill County Clerk is asking anyone who goes in person to vote to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.  

Early voting ended Friday, with a total of 6,477 voters going in person to vote early this year, with 718 democrats, 4,519 republicans, and 1,240 voters from other parties casting their votes at the early voting polls.

As of Saturday, October 30, there have been a total of 3,889 mail ballots returned by voters. Mail in ballots will be accepted until November 10th but must be postmarked by November 3rd.

There are 15,573 registered voters in Churchill County.

The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
