Viviane's movie review - Christopher Nolan strikes again

Christopher Nolan’s new film, Tenet, follows chaotic events with extreme precision.

Nolan is well known for his extreme care for an audience. His classic action music, camera symmetry, and intricate story  telling his film all the more intriguing.

The main characters, played by John David Washington (BlackKlansman) and Robert Pattinson (Twilight), make the film seem like the most intricate James Bond film in history.

Nolan starts the film directly into the conflict of the story, and requires the audience to learn everything in reverse like his characters. Nolan wants the audience to use instinct -- like the characters must – in order to solve the problem without him helping them along the way.

An additionally interesting part of this film is the representation on screen. Washington as the protagonist, a strong female arms dealer, and an even stronger female victim, breaks the stereotypes we have from other spy films like Bond.

Nolan is extremely self-aware in his film by Washington’s character mentioning in the film that he is, “a fresh-faced protagonist.”

This film requires the audience to work, but Nolan doesn’t make the audience feel stupid either. It relies on partially real scientific theory, and the audience to pay attention to intricate detail in order to successfully understand the film.
