Logos Christian Academy - September News

Reminder: Drop off and Pick Up

Students should not arrive earlier than 7:45 am as there is no supervision on the yard prior to that time. Checking of temperatures beginnings at 7:45. If your child arrives later than 8:05 and there is no longer someone on duty taking temperatures, they must go to the school office to be checked in. Likewise, students should be picked up no later than 3:15 pm, as supervision is not available after that time. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

Back to School Night (1st-8th Grade)

Back  to School Night for 1st-8th grade is this coming Thursday, September 3rd. Parents of 1st, 3rd, and 4th graders will meet in classrooms at 6:00 pm and parents of 2nd, 5th-8th graders will be at 6:35. (Wrong time was advertised last Friday for 1st and 2nd.) Teachers will review information for their class for the school year. Please keep in mind that space and distancing will be limited, so consider sending one parent per class. You are asked to wear masks/face coverings. This is an adult only evening – please make arrangements for childcare.

Volunteer Needs

There are a number of the staff members are covering several recess and lunch duties each week, but there is also a need for volunteers to help guarantee appropriate coverage. Below are still areas of need in the K-8 school.

  • Before school yard duty 7:45-8:05 any day
  • Morning Recess 9:40-10:10 – Monday
  • Lunch 11:50-12:30 - Monday and Wednesday
  • A second volunteer at any of our recess or lunch times is always helpful!
  • Substitute Teachers (Teaching credential not required – contact Mrs. Duarte if interested)

Visitors on Campus

When visiting the campus, either to volunteer or entering the buildings or playground to pick up or drop off and plan to linger, please wear a mask covering. Visitors (other than at drop off and pick up time) should always sign in at the office upon arrival. Thank you for your support in this way!

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
