Several weeks ago, Richard Hickox, Churchill County Sheriff, announced that his office would host a school supply drive to help out families that had been adversely affected by the COVID pandemic and might not be able to get their kids the school supplies they needed.

"Our community responded in an awesome way and came through huge," said Hickox. " want to thank all of you who shared our message for others to see. I especially want to thank those who took time out of their day and money out of their pocket for this cause and to help their community by buying school supplies."

Hickox also recognized the efforts of the FHA (Fallon Horsemans Association) for their generosity in assisting with the supply drive, as well as the local Girl Scout troop that brought in so many supplies as well.

"Today we were honored to meet with Superintendent Dr. Stephens and give her the school supplies to distribute to kids and families that don't get what they need during the Community Day event tomorrow," he said. "We are grateful and blessed to live in and be a part of a community like this, thank you all so much."

Dr. Stephens said she will take all the supplies back to the district and have principals pick up what they need for their schools today.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
