LifeReady Expo in March for local students
information courtesy Churchill County School District —
The Churchill County School District, along with Churchill Economic Development Authority, Western Nevada Colleg, and Job Opportunities in Nevada will present the LifeReady Expo for middle school students on Tuesday, March 3rd from 10:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for high school students. The expo will be held both days at the Fallon Convention Center. The LifeReady Expo will be set up similar to a career fair with students having the opportunity to rotate through various booths representing a multitude of industries with in-demand careers. This will provide CCHS students with an important new perspective on the many career options that are available both locally and regionally, that have the potential to provide a live-able wage or a pathway to a live-able wage. Organizers are seeking businesses and organizations to set up at the Fallon Convention Center with information about their industry and possible careers. Interactive booths are encouraged, as well as any supporting materials or giveaway items. Each student will have a passport that they will use throughout the day, and booth participants will help students complete their passports by asking brief on-the-spot interview questions and signing their passports. Several changes have been made this year to upgrade the Expo to better benefit all students. This year all students from CCHS will attend, including grades 9-10, as well as middle school students in grades 7 and 8. Each grade has approximately 250 students who will rotate through four stations during the day. Prior to the event, all students will have completed a comprehensive rotation of workshops relating to career pathways, character development, the YouScience aptitude assessment and will be ready to discuss their natural strengths and interests with those who are present representing businesses. The goals of the LifeReady event are to spark career interest for students early in their academic experience, increase their awareness of the career opportunities both locally and regionally, to highlight the necessary skills and attitudes needed for success, to connect student’s natural aptitudes and interests to attainable, living-wage career options, to showcase the value of academics to future success in career and life, and to inspire and motivate students to plan now for future their future success.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
