JCPenney Reno Receives LEED Silver Certification
Technical Designs announces LEED Silver Certification for JCPenney Reno Distribution Center Technical Designs is pleased to announce that JCPenney has received LEED Silver Certification for their Distribution Center in Reno, NV. This is the second time this 1.6 million square foot facility has been awarded LEED Silver Existing Building certification and as the LEED consultant for JCPenney Reno, Technical Designs continued the work and programs started during the initial certification. Mark Hauenstein, president of Technical Designs, said, “When you walk the facility, you experience one of the best distribution centers in Northern Nevada and documenting their Energy Star and LEED performance validated the hard work by the JCPenney team.” “Achieving LEED certification is more than implementing sustainable practices. It represents a commitment to making the world a better place and influencing others to do better,” said Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO, USGBC. "Given the extraordinary importance of climate protection and the central role of the building industry in that effort, JCPenney demonstrates their leadership through their LEED certification of the Reno Distribution Center.” JCPenney participates under “ReEnergize Reno” and is committed as a community leader to help the City of Reno reach its 2025 goal to improve the efficiency of commercial, industrial, and multifamily buildings by 20% and reduce climate pollution.
