Fallon residents can run or walk in honor of first responders Saturday, Sept. 12, during the free American Hero 5K at 340 Venturacci Lane.
Race-day registration will be held from 7 to 8:30 a.m., and the 5K will begin at 9 a.m. Participants of all ages are welcome, but children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The first 100 people to register will receive an event T-shirt.
Prizes will be awarded after the race, and food and drinks will be available. The event recognizes firefighters, law enforcement officers, and military service members.
Registration forms are available at the Financial Horizons Credit Union Fallon branch, 2711 Reno Highway. Completed forms may be returned to the branch. For more information, call 775-423-2141.
