August 7, 1959 - October 2, 2025
Cheryl Lynne Apperson-Hill

Born on August 7, 1959, in Reno, Nevada, Cheryl was the beloved daughter of Laura Jean Bliss and Joe Edward Ambler. She graduated from Churchill County High School in 1977 and later went on to earn an Associate of General Studies degree from Western Nevada Community College.

Cheryl’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, and aunt whose warmth and love touched everyone around her. Whether she was casting a line at one of her favorite fishing spots or simply enjoying time with those she loved, Cheryl’s spirit radiated joy, kindness, and positivity. To know her was to feel seen, supported, and loved. She was a true light in the lives of many.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Hill; her mother, Laura Jean Ambler; and her brothers, Allen Ambler and Keith Ambler. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Edward Ambler, and her husband, David William Hill.

In accordance with Cheryl’s wishes, no formal services are planned at this time.

Comment author: Jeff goings Comment text: September 11, article Civics 101 I would like to commend Rachael Dahl and the Fallon post for their article. Civics 101. This is a reminder that we as citizens live in a representative form of government and why it is so important that we vote as voting is our way of making our voice heard. When we bought our land in Kingston, Sis regaled us with her stories of gatherings at the old restaurant & bar on the way to Groves lake. Sis often said, 'What happens in Kingston stays in Kingston!' Fun & funny lady. Comment publication date: 9/8/26, 5:58 PM Comment source: Marilyn J. “Sis” Banovich Comment author: Ruth Fiege Comment text: So sorry for the pain your family is suffering. She is in comfort of Jesus arms. This is Ruth Fiege, Gary's cousin from WI. I can't begin to imagine the pain your family is suffering. So much comfort in knowing she and baby are with Jesus.
