Labor Day in Fallon: Rodeo, Running, Pancakes, and a Parade Four ways to enjoy the holiday weekend

Labor Day weekend will bring the Fallon Junior Rodeo, the Tristan Redmond Memorial 5K, the Rotary Club of Fallon pancake breakfast, and the Fallon Lions Club Labor Day Parade.

Fallon Junior Rodeo

Sept. 4-7 | Fairview Arena at the 3C Event Complex

The queen contest begins Friday with check-in at 5 p.m., a meet-and-greet at 5:30 p.m., and introductions and speeches at 6 p.m., followed by horsemanship. Rodeo competition begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tommy Lee Livestock Team Roping begins at 6 p.m. Saturday. Prizes will be awarded one hour after Sunday’s rodeo in the indoor arena. Tristan Redmond Memorial 5K Run/Walk

Saturday, Sept. 5 | 8 a.m. to noon | Oats Park

The run/walk honors the life and community service of Churchill County Sheriff's Deputy Tristan Redmond and supports the Tristan Redmond Memorial Scholarship for local students. The event is presented by the Churchill County Sheriff's Deputies Association.

Rotary Pancake Breakfast

Monday, Sept. 7 | 7 to 10 a.m. | Dirt lot next to the Churchill County Library, 553 S. Maine St.

The Rotary Club of Fallon's annual breakfast includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit, coffee, and milk. Tickets are $10 for adults. Children 12 and younger eat free, courtesy of the City of Fallon. Proceeds support Rotary scholarships and youth programs.

Fallon Lions Club Labor Day Parade

Monday, Sept. 7 | 10 a.m. | Taylor and Virginia streets

The annual parade will travel through downtown Fallon before returning to the area behind Churchill County Middle School. This year's theme is "Celebrating Churchill County Educators." Streets along the parade route will be temporarily closed.
