Registration is open for Churchill County Parks and Recreation’s CARE after-school program, which provides homework assistance, tutoring, and recreational activities for local elementary students.
Children in the program have access to games, crafts, snacks, and swimming at the Churchill Aquatic Center in a safe, structured environment.
The program is available to students in kindergarten through fifth grade who attend Oasis Academy, Lahontan Elementary School, E.C. Best Elementary School, or Numa Elementary School. Transportation is provided, and full-day care is available Fridays.
For Churchill County School District students, the program runs Aug. 24, 2026, through June 4, 2027. For Oasis Academy students, it runs Aug. 19, 2026, through May 20, 2027.
Daily drop-ins are accepted when space is available. Full-day drop-in care costs $30, and after-school drop-in care costs $15.
Families must complete a CARE membership before registering for the program. Membership and registration are available at churchillcountynv.myrec.com. For more information, call Churchill County Parks and Recreation at 775-423-7733.
