The Fallon Junior Rodeo returns to the 3C Event Complex over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6, with youth rodeo competition and activities at Fairview Arena.
Rodeo competition begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Contestants compete in two go-rounds, with events determined by age division.
Divisions include pee wee, ages 0-5; junior, ages 6-9; intermediate, ages 10-13; and senior, ages 14-18. Events include barrel racing, pole bending, goat tying, breakaway roping, team roping, steer riding, calf riding, chute dogging, steer stopping, calf roping, steer daubing, sack roping, and events for younger contestants.
The Fallon Junior Rodeo Queen Contest begins Friday, Sept. 4, with check-in at 5 p.m. and orientation at 5:30 p.m. Introductions, speeches, and horsemanship begin at 6 p.m. Girls ages 6-13 who are entered in the rodeo may participate in the queen contest. Coronation will be held during the Saturday lunch break.
A Tommy Lee Livestock Jackpot Team Roping is scheduled Saturday evening, Sept. 5. Sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m., with roping beginning at 6 p.m.
Sunday evening will include Family Night, with events to be announced, followed by the rodeo awards ceremony.
Rodeo entries must be notarized and postmarked by Aug. 23. No late entries will be accepted. The queen contest entry deadline is Aug. 24.
