The Fallon Lions Club will honor Churchill County educators during its annual Labor Day Parade on Monday, Sept. 7. Businesses, schools, civic groups, veterans, youth organizations, churches, families, and individuals are invited to participate.
This year’s theme is “Celebrating Churchill County Educators.”
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the corner of Taylor Street and Virginia Street, behind Churchill County Junior High School. Parade participants must pick up their numbers and instructions before 9 a.m. at the parade booth at Taylor and Virginia streets.
Entries are being accepted in several categories, including youth groups, civic groups, businesses, mounted individuals and groups, antique farm implements, automobiles, and candidates or incumbent officials. Other entries also are welcome.
Awards will include the President’s Award, Best Use of Theme, Most Creative, Best Youth Group, Best Civic Group, Best Business Entry, Best Mounted Individual, Best Mounted Group, Best Antique Farm Implement, and Best Automobile Entry. Awards will not be given to political groups.
Completed entry forms must be submitted by Friday, Aug. 28.
