As we roll into mid-August and the intense heat continues, the Fallon Theatre is excited, as always, to be a downtown staple for big-screen adventures, great music, and hometown connections! We have a packed lineup this coming weekend, featuring the final chapter of our favorite ogre's journey, an incredible live concert to kick off a local tradition, and a timeless western classic.

At 6 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, bring the whole family down to see "Shrek Forever After" (2010)! In this fourth and final installment of the series, Shrek finds himself longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre." After making a shady deal with the crafty Rumpelstiltskin to regain his mojo, Shrek is cast into a twisted alternate reality where he has to figure out how to undo the spell, save his friends, and reclaim his one true love. Rated PG, it runs 1 hour and 33 minutes.

On Friday night at 7 p.m., we are thrilled to host the free kickoff concert for the 12th Annual Community Reunion Weekend featuring Kat & Dave! Performing together for over seven years, Kat & Dave previously toured with a leading Pink Floyd tribute band and headlined showrooms, theaters, and concert venues across the country. Now performing as an acoustic duo with absolutely no backing tracks, they deliver an intimate, authentic live show featuring a brilliant blend of classic rock hits that showcase Kat’s phenomenal vocals and Dave’s standout guitar skills. It’s the perfect way to start reunion weekend with great music and good friends!

Then, join us for a walk down memory lane on Saturday morning by stopping by between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. for guided tours of our beautiful, historic theatre. It is a fantastic opportunity for alumni, teachers, and friends to reminisce, so gather your old classmates and join us for a weekend celebrating the people and places that make our town so special! 

And later that evening on Saturday at 7 p.m., take your seat for the legendary spaghetti western "A Fistful of Dollars" (1964)! Directed by Sergio Leone, this iconic film stars Clint Eastwood in his breakthrough role as the "Man with No Name" — a quiet, lethal wanderer who arrives in a small, battle-torn border town and plays two rival gangs of smugglers against each other for his own gain. Featuring Ennio Morricone’s legendary musical score, it is a quintessential big-screen masterpiece. Rated R, it runs 1 hour and 39 minutes.

Next weekend, join us on Friday, Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. for this month’s Third Friday Matinee featuring the beloved, Oscar-winning masterpiece "Forrest Gump" (1994)! Starring Tom Hanks in a career-defining role, the film follows a kind-hearted Alabama man whose extraordinary life journey unintentionally places him at the center of some of the most iconic historical moments of the 20th century. Proudly sponsored by The Coalition for Senior Citizens, this special screening comes with an extra treat: everyone aged 60 and older receives a free small popcorn and small soda at the concession stand! Gather your friends and relive a heartwarming story that reminds us all that life is like a box of chocolates. 

Get ready to lace up your running shoes on Saturday, Aug. 29 for a favorite local tradition: the Cantaloupe Canter 5K! Held in conjunction with the Cantaloupe Festival & Country Fair, this fun 5K run/walk directly supports the historic Fallon Theatre. Registration is $25 early or $30 on race day. Meet us in front of the indoor pool (333 Sheckler Rd.) with check-in at 7 a.m. and the race starting at 8 a.m. Register by Aug. 7 to lock in your event t-shirt! Whether you run, walk, or cheer, come out, enjoy the festival spirit, and help keep our marquee burning bright! 

Heading into fall, cruise down memory lane on Saturday, Sept. 26 for our 10th Annual Show-N-Shine! We’re shutting down Maine Street starting at 9 a.m. for a morning of beautiful classic cars, good food, music, and community fun. Free for the public to attend, it's the perfect family outing. Car owners can register a vehicle for $45 ($30 per additional entry), which includes a goody bag and raffle entry. Plus, this year marks the debut of our new "Best of Show" perpetual trophy, to be proudly displayed in the Fallon Theatre lobby! Special thanks to our generous sponsors, Cheek Construction and The Nugget, for making a decade of classic cars possible. 

In October, step with us into the world of bugs with Flik and friends for a fully immersive, one-weekend-only 4D movie experience with "A Bug's Life" on Oct. 2 and 3! This family-friendly event features a fully decorated theater, themed treats, and sensory special effects, with interactive 4D screenings on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. (evening doors open at 5 p.m.). Tickets are already halfway sold out, and since these 4D events always sell out completely, reserve your seats now on our website or Facebook page! Your $5 reservation fee goes directly toward restoring our historic front facade. Prefer the traditional movie? Standard screenings (no special effects or reservations required) run Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. 

In November, gear up for a night of pure laughter on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. as clean, family-friendly stand-up comedy returns to the Fallon Theatre! We are thrilled to welcome Nashville-based comedian Lee Hardin (DryBar Comedy, The Mike Huckabee Show) back to our stage for an evening of warm, relatable humor the whole family can enjoy. Tickets are $20, but you can snag an Early Bird Discount of $5 off until Sept. 1, or grab a Double Date Discount to get four tickets for the price of two! Grab your seats early and join us for a great night out right here in your favorite historic theater.
