Fallon residents gathered at Oats Park for National Night Out, bringing families together with local law enforcement, first responders, community organizations, and military representatives despite the summer heat.
This year’s event was the largest to date and included information booths, demonstrations, a bounce house, a shade tent, and several food options.
Representatives from the Fallon Police Department, Churchill County Sheriff’s Department, Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe and Police Department, Fallon Chamber of Commerce, Churchill County 4-H, several groups from NAS Fallon, and the Churchill County Fire Department were among those on hand to answer questions and offer demonstrations.
The Battle Born Ice Cream truck drew a long line for much of the evening.
Churchill County 4-H brought two lambs and rabbits for visitors to pet. Oasis Academy students Makenzie Schroeder and Kelsey Nall shared information about their rabbits, lambs, and other livestock they raise and show competitively.
National Night Out is intended to build relationships between first responders and community members. In Fallon, the event has grown each year.
