Cantaloupe Festival Main Stage Brings Two Nights of Music

Music on the main stage will stretch from blues and rock to country during this year’s Fallon Cantaloupe Festival and Country Fair, with four performances scheduled Friday and Saturday nights.

Austin Mo will open both nights at 8 p.m., followed by Left of Centre at 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, and Nashville 90 at 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29.

Mo is a Sacramento-area singer, songwriter and guitarist whose music draws from blues and classic rock. According to his official biography, he grew up listening to bands including Led Zeppelin and Bad Company and began playing guitar at age 12.

His music combines those influences with his own material. Mo has released the EP “Do Or Die” along with several singles, including “Back In the Kingdom,” “I’m Wanted,” “Take a Walk In My Shoes” and “The River.”

Mo has played throughout Northern California and beyond, appearing at clubs, festivals and other live music venues. He takes the Cantaloupe Festival stage at 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

Friday night shifts toward country rock when Nevada band Left of Centre takes the stage at 10 p.m.

The four-piece band has deep ties to Nevada’s live music scene. Left of Centre spent 12 years as the house band at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Las Vegas, performing several nights a week until the venue closed during the pandemic.

The band later found another home on the Las Vegas Strip and performs regularly at Blake Shelton’s Ole Red. Its members are Frank Garrett on lead vocals and guitar, Jerry Tomlinson on lead guitar and vocals, Greg Sadler on bass, keyboards and vocals, and Jesse Easter on drums, keyboards and vocals.

Left of Centre has built a catalog of more than 300 songs and has performed at events including the National Finals Rodeo, Cheyenne Frontier Days and the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Saturday night turns to the country music of the 1990s when Nashville 90 takes the main stage at 10 p.m.

Billed as a ’90s country tribute, Nashville 90 brings the music of the decade back to the stage. The group has appeared at other festivals in the West this year, including the City of Yuma’s BBQ and Brew Festival in February.

Nashville 90 will close Saturday’s main-stage entertainment following Austin Mo’s 8 p.m. performance.

The entertainment is part of the three-day Fallon Cantaloupe Festival and Country Fair, set for Aug. 28-30 at the 3C Event Complex.
