The Churchill County Sheriff's Office has added four new members to its ranks, including an experienced deputy sheriff and three reserve deputies who will help support law enforcement and detention operations.
Sheriff Lee Orozco recently administered the oath of office to Deputy Ana Ochoa, who joins the agency after previously serving with the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office. Ochoa brings prior law enforcement experience and holds a Nevada Category III Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certificate. She will begin her service in the Churchill County Detention Center.
Orozco also swore in Reserve Deputies Stephen Skoda, Leif Steinbaugh, and Robert Bridges.
Skoda and Steinbaugh will complete the Sheriff's Office reserve training program, preparing them to assist both the Operations Division and the Detention Center.
Bridges joins the reserve program with prior law enforcement certification, already holding a Nevada Category I P.O.S.T. certificate. After completing agency-specific training and becoming familiar with the Sheriff's Office's policies and procedures, he will be eligible to assist the Operations Division with designated law enforcement duties.
The addition of the four officers expands the Sheriff's Office workforce as the agency continues recruiting and training personnel to serve Churchill County.
