Veritas Preparatory School continues to be blessed with growth as new students and staff join the school community for the coming academic year.
One of the most significant changes this year is the division of the combined third- and fourth-grade classroom into two separate classes. Veteran teacher Mrs. Gretchen Felte will continue teaching third grade, while Mr. Nick Springfield joins the Veritas faculty as the new fourth-grade teacher. Creating separate classrooms will allow each teacher to focus more closely on the academic and developmental needs of students at each grade level while maintaining the school’s commitment to small classes and individualized instruction.
Veritas is also expanding its music and art curriculum for students throughout the school. Mrs. Kayla Holtmeyer joins the faculty to teach music and art to students in K4 through fourth grade. Through these classes, younger students will have additional opportunities to develop creativity, explore artistic techniques, and build foundational musical skills.
Older students will also benefit from new music instruction. Headmaster David Ernst will teach guitar to students in fifth through eighth grade, giving them the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument, develop musical discipline, and experience the joy of making music together. These new offerings complement the school’s continued Latin instruction for upper-grade students and further strengthen Veritas’ classical, well-rounded approach to education.
The expansion of the faculty and curriculum comes alongside the completion of Veritas’ new classroom building. The building will provide dedicated classrooms for the combined fifth- and sixth-grade class and the combined seventh- and eighth-grade class. Construction is expected to be completed within the next few weeks, providing additional space for the school’s growing student body.
Each of these developments reflects the continued support of Veritas families, staff, and the broader community. The school is grateful for the opportunity to welcome new students and teachers while continuing to provide an education centered on academic excellence, Christian character, and a love of truth, goodness, and beauty.
