The Fallon City Council unanimously approved a one-year extension of the tentative subdivision map for the proposed Saddlehorn Subdivision during a special meeting July 16, giving the developer additional time to submit a final subdivision map.
The extension moves the tentative map's expiration date from July 19, 2026, to July 19, 2027. The tentative map was originally approved July 19, 2022.
Deputy City Attorney Sean Rowe said Nevada law requires a subdivider to submit a final subdivision map within four years of tentative map approval unless the governing body grants an extension.
According to the staff report, the developer consented to the extension and continues preparing the final subdivision map. City staff recommended approval to allow additional time for the map to be completed and presented to the council.
The extension preserves the tentative subdivision map while the project continues through the approval process. It does not constitute final approval of the subdivision.
The extension was the only action item on the special meeting agenda.
