Live Shakespeare is coming to Churchill County Library later this month as the Young Shakes touring company presents an adaptation of William Shakespeare's "Macbeth."
The free performance begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at Churchill County Library, 553 S. Maine St. Presented by the Young Shakes outreach program of the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, the hourlong production is designed for children, families, and anyone interested in experiencing Shakespeare for the first time.
Young Shakes tours libraries, schools, and community venues throughout the region, introducing audiences to Shakespeare through live performances by a professional acting company.
Although it was written more than 400 years ago, "Macbeth" continues to be performed around the world because its story of ambition, power, and the consequences of personal choices remains relevant to modern audiences.
The library performance offers local residents an opportunity to experience one of Shakespeare’s best-known works without leaving Fallon. Admission is free, and no reservations are required.
