We have an action-packed week ahead at the Fallon Theatre, featuring nostalgic family fun, a classic comedy and an unforgettable evening of live music. If you're looking to escape the summer heat, our historic, fully air-conditioned theater is the perfect place to spend the day.

At 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, bring the family for The Indian in the Cupboard (1995). Based on the beloved children's novel, the film follows young Omri, who discovers that the toy figures he locks inside a wooden cupboard magically come to life. It's a wonderful adventure parents and grandparents will enjoy sharing with a new generation. Rated PG. Runtime: 1 hour, 36 minutes.

On Friday, catch Guarding Tess (1994) at 1 p.m. or 7 p.m. Starring Nicolas Cage and Shirley MacLaine, this heartwarming comedy follows an exasperated Secret Service agent assigned to protect the stubborn widow of a former president. Their constant clashes turn into an unlikely friendship in this charming, funny classic. Rated PG-13. Runtime: 1 hour, 36 minutes.

Our 1 p.m. Third Friday Matinee is proudly sponsored by the Coalition for Senior Citizens. Thanks to their generosity, guests 60 and older will receive a free small popcorn and small soda.

Saturday night, we're swapping the projector for the stage as Ventura Highway, one of the country's premier America tribute bands, performs live beginning at 8 p.m. for just $10. Sing along to favorites like A Horse with No Name, Sister Golden Hair and Ventura Highway while enjoying another great night at the Fallon Theatre.

Looking ahead, we're excited to host the kickoff concert and theater tours during the 12th Annual Community-Wide Reunion on Aug. 14-15, the Cantaloupe Canter 5K on Aug. 29, our 10th Annual Show-N-Shine on Sept. 26, and the return of comedian Lee Hardin on Nov. 20.
