Registration opens for Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament

Registration opens for Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament

Registration is underway for the annual Jim Regan Memorial Golf Tournament, with organizers inviting golfers, sponsors and donors to take part in the fundraiser supporting scholarships for children of Churchill County employees.

The tournament will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Fallon Golf Course. Teams will compete in a four-person scramble, with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

The entry fee includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, lunch, snacks and opportunities to compete for prizes, including top team finishes, longest drive and closest-to-the-pin contests.

The tournament honors former Churchill County Commissioner Jim Regan, who was elected in 1989 and served for 11 years until his death in 2000. It serves as the primary fundraiser for the Jim Regan Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to children of Churchill County general employees pursuing higher education. Proceeds from this year’s tournament will fund scholarships awarded in spring 2027.

Four-person teams, hole sponsors and prize donors are welcome.

Online registration and payment must be completed by Sept. 3. Paper registration forms and entry fees may also be submitted to Alexa Robinson in the Churchill County Manager’s Office, 155 N. Taylor St., Suite 194, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Checks should be made payable to Churchill County Golf.

For more information, contact Robinson at 775-350-1622.

This is a reminder that we as citizens live in a representative form of government and why it is so important that we vote as voting is our way of making our voice heard. When we bought our land in Kingston, Sis regaled us with her stories of gatherings at the old restaurant & bar on the way to Groves lake. Sis often said, 'What happens in Kingston stays in Kingston!'
