Residents interested in public service have a range of job opportunities available as Churchill County and the City of Fallon continue recruiting across several departments.
Together, the two local governments are advertising more than a dozen openings, including entry-level positions, skilled trades, professional roles and public safety careers.
Churchill County is seeking applicants in public health, social services, juvenile justice, parks and recreation and the Alternate Public Defender’s Office. Current openings include public health preparedness planner, deputy public defender I, juvenile detention specialist, office specialist, transportation specialist and lifeguard/swim instructor, along with several positions supporting the Central Nevada Health District.
The City of Fallon is also accepting applications for water and wastewater treatment operator, maintenance worker, staff accountant, meter technician and police officer positions for both cadets and lateral hires.
Many of the full-time positions include medical insurance and participation in the Nevada Public Employees’ Retirement System. Salary ranges vary by position, experience and qualifications.
Some openings are available until filled, while others have application deadlines within the next two weeks.
The available positions offer several paths into local government, from hands-on work in utilities and maintenance to careers in law, finance, public health and law enforcement.
