The sound of six-shooters will once again echo through the Rafter 3C Arena as the Cowboy Fast Draw Association brings its Fastest Gun Alive World Championship back to Fallon July 15-19.
More than 250 competitors from across the United States are expected to compete for one of the sport's highest honors during the five-day championship, testing their speed, accuracy and precision using specially designed wax-bullet ammunition.
Cowboy Fast Draw recreates the spirit of the Old West in a safe, family-friendly competition that emphasizes marksmanship, quick reflexes and sportsmanship. The Cowboy Fast Draw Association describes its mission as "safety first, fun second and competition third," while promoting fellowship and fair play among competitors.
Spectators are welcome throughout the event, with free admission and parking.
In addition to championship competition, visitors can enjoy food and craft vendors, a classic car show from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday, and a free opportunity to try Cowboy Fast Draw from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday under the supervision of association members.
Championship rounds are scheduled for July 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the Fastest Gun Alive World Championship Finals beginning at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19.
