Meet Nash

If you're looking for a best friend who always has something to say, Nash may be your perfect match.

Nash is a handsome 11-month-old orange and white tabby with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This sweet boy loves to chat with his people, soak up attention, and be wherever you are. Whether he's playing with his favorite toys, asking for pets, or simply keeping you company, Nash is happiest when he's surrounded by love.

Nash shares a special bond with his brother, Stash, and the two are looking for a forever home together. They have been through life's adventures side by side and would love to continue their journey as a pair.

Nash is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. All Nash and Stash need now is a family to call their own.

Those interested in meeting Nash and Stash or learning more about adoption opportunities are encouraged to contact the shelter.

Have You Seen Runt ... or Has Runt Seen You First?

Reports have been coming in for months about a mysterious creature roaming the area. Sometimes she's a shepherd mix. Sometimes she's a furry tornado. Sometimes she's a professional squeaky-toy assassin.

Her name is Runt.

At about 1 year old, Runt may seem cautious around new people at first. She likes to observe from a distance and determine whether you're a friend, a foe, or a potential treat dispenser.

Once you've earned her trust, the transformation begins. Runt becomes an affectionate companion who wants to play, cuddle, and be part of your daily adventures.

Runt gets along well with other dogs and has been around children. She would do best with an active family that can keep up with her energy level and provide plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

Current estimates suggest Runt runs on equal parts zoomies, mischief, and enthusiasm. Without enough activity, she may decide to entertain herself with shoes, furniture, or other household items.

Runt is also quite vocal and enjoys sharing her thoughts on neighborhood happenings, squirrel sightings, and other important breaking news.

Cats remain a mystery. Chickens, however, are not recommended. Runt views them less as roommates and more as menu items, so a chicken-free home is required.

If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion with a big personality, Runt may be your perfect match.

Those interested in meeting Runt or learning more about adoption opportunities are encouraged to contact the shelter.

Comment publication date: 8/17/26, 7:40 PM Comment source: Jorge Jose Guerrero Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
