Meet Valerie

Valerie is a 9‑year‑old cat with a gentle, affectionate personality. She is fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and she’s ready to settle into a home of her own.

She gets along well with other cats and enjoys a mix of playtime and quiet moments. Valerie likes batting at toys, watching the world from a sunny window, and soaking up attention — especially when it comes to being petted.

She’s a sweet, steady companion who would fit easily into a calm household. All she needs now is a family ready to give her a place to belong.

Ozzy is Available for Adoption

Ozzy, a 3 1/2-year-old pit bull mix at the City of Fallon Animal Shelter, is looking for a forever home after winning over shelter staff with his playful personality, love of water, and gentle nature around children.

Described as affectionate and “water-obsessed,” Ozzy enjoys swimming, splashing in sprinklers, and spending time outdoors before settling in for indoor cuddle time. Shelter staff say he is fully house-trained and walks well on a leash, making him an ideal companion for an active family.

Ozzy does well with female dogs but should not be placed in a home with male dogs. Staff recommend either a single-pet home or one with a compatible female dog. Because he has no known history with cats, the shelter suggests a cat-free home or slow, supervised introductions if cats are present.

Shelter staff say Ozzy thrives in lively households and especially enjoys being around children. They describe him as a loyal, fun-loving dog who would make a strong addition to the right family.

For more information about adopting Ozzy, contact the City of Fallon Animal Shelter at 775-423-2282.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
