The Churchill County Museum will host a special book event on Saturday, May 16, at 2 p.m. featuring author Andy Russell and his new book “Like Friends Like Foes,” which examines the Japanese American experience in Nevada during World War II.
Russell will be joined by Masa Kito Fujitani, whose family lived in the region during the war years and whose personal history connects directly to the themes explored in the book. The program will include a discussion and audience Q&A.
Copies of “Like Friends Like Foes” will be available for purchase at the event, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Churchill County Museum Association. The book is also available through the University of Nevada Press.
The museum encourages community members to attend and learn more about this chapter of Nevada history.
