Lavina Rae “Bonnie” Baldwin Kellerer returned to her heavenly home on April 22nd, 2026 after a lengthy illness.
Lavina, affectionately known as “Bunny” by her family, was born in Schurz, Nevada to Lavinos And Mathilda “Tillie” Graham Baldwin on June 2, 1942. She attended schools in Schurz and Fallon, graduating in 1960. Bonnie enjoyed singing and was a member of the Glee Club, and was also active in Future Homemakers of America. Bonnie was an enrolled member of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. As a young woman, Bonnie moved to Reno, NV where she met and married Ralph Kellerer of Reno, NV. Ralph was a member of the United States Armed Forces, and soon he and Bonnie transferred to a base near Charleston, South Carolina where their children, Cynthia and Ralph, were born. Bonnie's husband Ralph passed away in 1982 and shortly after, Bonnie and her children returned to the Reno area. She later became employed by Washoe Medical where she worked until her retirement. Bonnie enjoyed the peace and quiet of her home in Sun Valley, visits from her family, and the company of her friend, Beverly Oler, a companion of over forty years and later her caregiver. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her son, as well as her brothers Ernest, Irvin, Kevin and Leland Baldwin, a sister, Mary (Baldwin) Brady and sisters-in-law Marie (Geoff) Baldwin, Gayle (Robert) Baldwin, Amelia Marie Smith (Stanley) and a brother-in-law, Robert O' Daye. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia, and three grandchildren; brothers Stanley, Robert, and Tony (Elaine) Baldwin of Fallon, NV, Geoff Baldwin of Grants Pass, Oregon, and also sisters Rebecca (Pete) Shumpert of Prosperity, South Carolina, Ramona O' Daye of Reno, NV and sisters in-law Joann Jim (Irvin) and Donna (Ernest) Baldwin of Fallon, NV., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will take place at a later date.
