Obituary - Phillip Arthur Zamora

Obituary - Phillip Arthur Zamora
Born November 28, 1939 in Albuquerque, New Mexico Phillip Arthur Zamora, from Kingston, Nevada, passed away with his wife, children and extended family by his side on Sept. 27, 2019 from complications of open-heart surgery. Phillip was a long-time resident of Fallon, NV., raising his family of six, volunteering and supporting the community including sports, education and church activities. He was the proud and successful owner of a local glass business for over 40 years. Upon retirement, Phillip was able to fulfill his dream of moving to his cabin in Kingston, NV. He loved the outdoors, trapping, fishing, hunting and camping. He enjoyed them even more when his kids, grandkids and friends showed up for a weekend at the cabin. Teaching, leading and always willing, no matter how tired he was, to give tours of the mountains and land he loved and called home. Master of all trades, the locals of Kingston knew they could count on him and they certainly did. Phillip could make anything out of nothing so there was never a challenge he wasn’t willing to accept and capable of fulfilling. He will be dearly missed by all. Phillip is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rosalie and six children; Karleen Smith of Henderson, NV; Gregory Sonny Zamora (Jennifer) of Las Vegas, NV; Janee’ England (Dave) of Washoe Valley, NV; Steve Zamora (Tahnee) of Costa Mesa, CA ; Baron Zamora (Suzie) of Austin, NV; Autumn Catalano (Jon) of Sparks, NV; Two Step-children: Kevin Cardin (Debra) of Nampa, ID and Kellie Flodman (Eric) of Fernley, NV. Four Sisters: Soila Smith of Amarillo, TX ; Louanne Brown (Dave) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Susan Lynch of Tustin, California; Peggy Lewis (Dwight) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; One brother Rick Zamora of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 23 Grandchildren, 17 Great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Phillip was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Zamora, mother, Theresa Zamora and two brothers; Robert Zamora and Arthur Zamora. A memorial service will be held at The Gardens, 2949 Austin Hwy, Fallon, NV., on October 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life luncheon at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 507 Churchill Street, Fallon, NV. In lieu of flowers please make donations in the name of Phillip Zamora to the Kingston Fire Company or Nevada Trapper's Association.       Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
