Sixth Annual Goat and Sheep Sale Success

Sixth Annual Goat and Sheep Sale Success
by Gloria Montero The Fallon Livestock and Nevada Goat Producers held their sixth annual Goat and Sheep Sale on September 21st.  This special sale is put on once a year around this time providing an opportunity for breeders to sale their animals.  Fourteen hundred head were sold at the Fallon Livestock and were sold at a very good price to a variety of buyers both locally and from out of state. Tommy Lee, owner of the Fallon Livestock, opened the auction this year with five High Desert Grange youth selling their goats. This gave the youth an avenue in which to sell goats that did not make weight at the August Silver State Show in Yerington.  The High Desert Grange youth were very excited at Tommy Lee’s generous offer and they deeply appreciate the opportunity he gave them. This sale is becoming very popular as sellers make a little more profit on their stock and buyers can buy large quantities of goats and sheep, making their trip to Fallon a worthwhile effort.  This was another very successful year.  The Goat and Sheep Sale is always held near the end of September, so be sure to look for the date in 2020.       Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
