Business of Art Class in Fallon

Business of Art Class in Fallon
Art comes in many forms; photography, paintings, metals, woodwork, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, jewelry, leather goods, and so much more. You can turn your talent or hobby into a small business with the help of the Small Business Development Center. Join the expert trainers of the SBDC on Saturday, October 12th at 8:30 a.m. for six hours of hands-on instruction to learn more about turning your art into a profit. Numbers matter; what are your labor and materials costs? Are you writing off legitimate expenses like mileage, travel, workspace, and administrative costs? Business numbers matter. Presented by Kathy Halbardier, Nevada SBDC business advisor at the College of Business at the University of Nevada, and founder and former business owner of Tahoe Ridge Winery & Marketplace, the seating is limited to 15 and registration is required online at www.NevadaSBDC.org - click on training calendar. Questions can be directed to Kathy Carrico at 775-784-6879 or [email protected]. The class will be held at the Churchill County Library Annex, 507 A South Maine Street in Fallon.     Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
