The Churchill County Lady Greenwave basketball teams continued their strong season Saturday, Dec. 13, with decisive home wins over the Lady Railroaders of Sparks.
The junior varsity team opened the night with a dominant defensive performance, holding Sparks to six points in a 41-6 victory.
Momentum carried into the varsity game, where Churchill controlled play from the opening tip and rolled to a 60-5 win. Kortnie Simper led the Lady Greenwave with 14 points and four steals, while Amillya Bishop added 13 points.
With the win, the Churchill County varsity team improved to 8-0 on the season.
Churchill will return to action at home Thursday, Dec. 18, when the Lady Greenwave host South Tahoe. The junior varsity game is scheduled for 3 p.m., followed by freshman and varsity contests.
