Senior Focus Group at Pennington Life Center

Senior Focus Group at Pennington Life Center
Join the Nevada Aging and Disability Service Division for a Conversation with Nevadans on Tuesday, September 17th at 1 o’clock p.m. at the William N. Pennington Life Center, 952 S. Maine Street. As Nevada plans for the next State Plan for Aging Services, the ADSD invites community members to join them for a series of focus groups. The division is asking to hear directly from “older Nevadans, people with disabilities, and our family caregivers.” The division is asking members of the community to share about what services are available in their communities, and their experience with caregiving. Additionally they will be presenting information about the expanded services now available in Adult Protective Services, changes to the Senior/Disability Prescription Assistance Program, and the upcoming Medicare Open Enrollment period. Additional focus groups will be held in Reno at the Washoe County Senior Center, in Virginia City at the Storey County Senior Center, and Carson City at the Carson Senior Center. Reservations are appreciated and can be made by calling or emailing Wendy Thornley, 775-687-0551, or [email protected].       Read more local news – return to the home page at www.thefallonpost.org/ Support your local news source, make a contribution today. www.thefallonpost.org/support-our-work/

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
