Fatal Car Crash in Fallon at Rio Vista and Hwy 50

The Nevada Highway Patrol released information today, Sept. 18, about a fatal crash on U.S. 50 at Rio Vista Drive in Fallon.

Troopers said a sedan traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane and collided with a sport utility vehicle. The driver of the sedan, an adult woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital with injuries described as minor.

U.S. 50 was closed in both directions between Rio Vista Drive and Crook Road for about one to two hours while investigators worked the scene.

Highway Patrol said the identity of the deceased will be released after next-of-kin notifications are made.
