County Commission Action Wrap-Up

Churchill County Board of County Commissioners met Aug. 20, approving the following items:

  • Agreement between Unite Us and Social Services to provide a resource directory website for $5,000, with funding of $3,000 from the City of Fallon, $1,000 from Social Services, and $1,000 from the Churchill Community Coalition.
  • Agreement between Preferred Packaging and Social Services to lease OmniSeal packaging equipment for the Life Center, in the amount of $10,750 per year for five years.
  • Southwest Gas amended agreement to pay two percent of net profits to the State Treasurer for deposit in the State Education Fund. Previously, these funds were passed through the county treasurer’s office to the state treasurer.
  • Job descriptions and salaries for several positions at the Central Nevada Health District following its restructuring.
  • Sheriff’s Office Deputies Association Side Letter Agreements for the Deputies and Sergeants Units. The letter negotiated how overtime and leave time will be recorded and paid.
  • Revised Pay Tables for FY25-26, specifically to correct the pay grade of Election Technician to grade 47. All other pay tables remain unchanged.

The next County Commission meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 4 at 8:15 a.m. at 155 N. Taylor St., Ste 145. Agendas and meeting packets can be found online at churchillcounty.gov.
