Event Round-Up at Logos

It has been another busy and joyful week at Logos Christian Academy. Schools across the country celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and we made sure not to miss out. We truly appreciate our teachers. This week, they were treated to snacks, custom-made drinking tumblers, and a beautifully catered lunch—without the kids. As always, UPLIFT organized the event with care and excellence. Thank you, UPLIFT!

Our eighth graders also embarked on their annual trip this week, a celebration they spend the entire school year planning and fundraising for. This year’s destination: Universal Studios. With creative monthly fundraisers—bingo nights, bake sales and even a Valentine’s Day babysitting service—the class worked hard to reach their goal. Their dedication paid off, and the students traveled to Los Angeles with parent volunteers for an unforgettable experience. Thanks to their efforts, they not only covered the cost of the trip, but each student had extra spending money in hand. A big thank you to all the parent volunteers who drove, chaperoned, and helped make this trip a reality. Congratulations to our eighth-grade class!

In addition, Headmaster Mr. Slentz and first and second grade teacher Mrs. Jeana represented the school at the Fernley Small Business Expo, held at City Hall. The annual event brings together local business owners and community members to network, share opportunities, and build relationships. We were honored to attend and look forward to strengthening our ties within the Fernley community.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”Proverbs 22:6

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
