Obituary - Virginia Yvonne McCart

Obituary - Virginia Yvonne McCart

Virginia Yvonne McCart, better known as Gina or Ninnie, quietly slipped away on March 10, 2025, at the age of 76.

She was born Nov. 2, 1948, in Fallon, Nevada, to Frank Elwood McCart and Delores Elaine Bliss McCart. She was the eldest of nine siblings and was known for her loving and caring attitude, with unwavering dedication to her family and friends.

She graduated from Churchill County High School in 1967 and began working at the Army base in Hawthorne in 1968. After several years, she transferred to the base in Tracy, California, living in Tracy and later Stockton until her retirement in 2000. She returned to the family home on Schurz Highway, where she lived until her passing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law Jessy McEwen, George Wilkins and Michael Alberts; and nephews Tracy McCart and Kannon Butterbredt.

She is survived by her siblings: Charlie (Anita) McCart, Shirley Wilkins, Teresa McCart, Pam Moore, Brenda Alberts, Jana (Larry) Neal, Candi McEwen (Chuck Vincent) and Rachel Consoli (Mike Barbato); as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.

A longtime member of the Fallon Seventh Day Adventist Church, she taught Sabbath School in the children’s division for many years, following in her mother’s footsteps, and also served as the church custodian.

She loved Elvis Presley, crafting with children and reading. She could always be counted on by her family and friends to be there for any occasion or when help or support was needed.

A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. April 28, 2025, at the Fallon Seventh Day Adventist Church, 755 Esmeralda St., Fallon, followed by a reception across the street at the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fallon Seventh Day Adventist Church, Children’s Sabbath School Expense, at the above address.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon ManComment author: Pam BitschenauerComment text: Ken, thank you for your kind words about Scott our "Mellon Man". My husband and I used to visit with Scott quite often when we lived in Fallon and then whenever we had the chance to as we passed through town. He was truly a good person and will be sorely missed.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 3:15 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
