Obituary - Frank Soares

Obituary - Frank Soares

It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to lifelong Fallon resident Frank Soares—brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, great-grandfather, and friend to all. Frank passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2025, with his family by his side.

Frank was born to Joe P. and Annie I. (Gomes) Soares on Jan. 3, 1934. He spent his life in Fallon, attending Churchill County High School and graduating with the class of 1952.

Frank married Viola (Bailey) in 1953. Together they raised their two children, Debra and Steven, until her passing in 1986. He spent his years farming and being active in the community, both locally and statewide.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 33 years, Viola; and son-in-law Alan Hoffmann. Frank is survived by his wife, Kaye Soares; sister, Margaret Bailey; children, Debra Hoffmann (Gary Brackley) and Steven (Bonnie) Soares; grandchildren, David (Kristy) Hoffmann, Annie Hoffmann, and Jerry Swindel (Catherine); great-grandchildren, Colton and Kaitlynn Hoffmann; and many nephews and nieces.

A rosary will be recited on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Churchill County Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Churchill County Fire Department, 20 N. Carson St., Fallon, NV 89406, or St. Patrick’s Parish Hall Building Fund, 850 W. 4th St., Fallon, NV 89406

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
