Fallon Theatre Events Continue With "Shrek 2" and "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again"

Last weekend's Galentine's events were a blast and a huge success! A big thank you to everyone who joined us, whether it was for the free concert with The Domesticated Man Band, the movies, or our 5K fundraiser. It's always amazing to see such incredible support from the community!

This weekend, on both Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., we're continuing the beloved DreamWorks animated fractured fairy tale series with a screening of "Shrek 2," featuring the voice talents of Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, and Cameron Diaz. In this sequel, Shrek and Fiona head to the Kingdom of Far Far Away to celebrate their marriage with Fiona's royal parents, only to discover their welcome isn't as warm as expected. The film is rated PG with a runtime of 1 hour and 33 minutes.

At 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, we're heading back to the picturesque, albeit fictional, Greek island of Kalokairi for "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again." Set five years after the original "Mamma Mia!" (2008), Sophie prepares for the grand reopening of the Hotel Bella Donna while uncovering more about her mother's past. This PG-13-rated film has a runtime of 1 hour and 54 minutes.

The Fallon Theatre plays a crucial role in the vibrancy and character of Maine Street, serving as both a cultural hub and a historic landmark that connects the community. The support of local residents, businesses, and visitors is vital to ensuring its continued success and relevance. The mission of Fallon Community Theatre, Inc. is to preserve, renovate, and operate the historic Fallon Theatre while offering a diverse range of enriching activities that engage and inspire the community.

Along with free movies, exciting events, and advertising opportunities, we also offer our newly refurbished marquee for personalized messages. To reserve a Marquee Message or book an auditorium for a party, contact us at 775-423-6210 or email [email protected].

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
