Community pulls together to help grieving family
After the terrible tragedy that struck this week when the Gelineau family lost their sweet Levi, several members of the community have offered ways to help or make some gesture of compassion. The I7 Meat & Cattle Company is donating a half of a beef, cut and wrapped to two winners (one whole beef) for a raffle, with all proceeds going to the Gelineau Family. Tickets are $10 a piece and available at the shop located at 1100 Allen Road. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the shop at 775-217-0083, or sending a private message through Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/I7meatandcattleco/ Friends of the family have also set up a GoFundMe campaign where contributions can be made as well. https://www.gofundme.com/rhrs5m-the-gelineau-family Services for Levi Gelineau will be held on Friday, July 26th at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints chapel on North Taylor Street in Fallon. https://www.thefallonpost.org/obituaries/funeral-notice-levi-tate-gelineau/       Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. C Comment author: Carl C. HagenComment text: What are MFNs and PBMs ?? ............................ From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
