Carol Joy Wearing-Johnson, loving wife, mother, sister, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many, passed peacefully at her home on November 4, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.

Carol was born on July 24, 1943, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Troy and Thelma Selvey. Her family relocated to Riverside, California, in 1954, where she married and raised her family. She worked at Parkview Community Hospital for 27 years as an accountant and was nominated for Employee of the Year in 1986. After retirement, Carol moved to Fallon, NV in 2000.

Family was always first for Carol, and her love, wisdom, and kindness will continue to touch the lives of those she loved.  A cherished member of her community, Carol cared deeply for others and dedicated her time to activities such as volunteering at the Eagles Club and supporting veterans. She also enjoyed traveling, having visited much of the nation over her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, George Johnson, daughter Penny (Brett) Cassell, sons Danny (Lisa) Scalf, and Gregory Scalf, step-daughter Debbie (Jimmy) Potter, and step-son Jamie (Laurie) Johnson.  She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be forever loved and never forgotten.

There will be a Memorial Service for Carol on December 7, 2024, at The Gardens Funeral Home at 11 a.m., located at 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, NV, with a reception to follow in the Reception Hall.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
