Movies & More August 30 & 31

Last weekend was huge for Fallon and Churchill County with the annual Cantaloupe Festival and Country Fair. The theatre played a part in the festivities by hosting the Cantaloupe Canter 5K fun run/walk. Thank you so much to everyone who came out on an unusually cool August morning to make the event a success.

This weekend, the month is winding down with a fun couple of films for you to enjoy.

First, at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, we’re showing “The Lego Ninjago Movie.” Released in 2017, this is the third film in the Lego Movie franchise and follows the story of a teenage ninja who seeks to defeat his evil warlord father with the help of his friends. The movie is rated PG and has a runtime of 1 hour and 41 minutes.

Secondly, on both Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m., we have the final installment of the Harry Potter series, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” The final battle rages on at Hogwarts while Harry, Ron, and Hermione search out the remaining Horcruxes to defeat Voldemort. This film is rated PG-13 and has a runtime of 2 hours and 10 minutes.

If you’re interested in making plans for what movies you’d like to see at the Fallon Theatre in September and October, both schedules can be found on Facebook, Instagram, or the website www.fallontheatre.com.

The 2024 Show ‘N’ Shine will be held on September 28 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. More details will be available soon.

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family. May you be comforted to know that I care and I pray you will be comforted by your memories of Frank. Sincerely,Comment publication date: 4/30/26, 11:51 AMComment source: Frank Robert Kroll
