A Gracie Jiu-Jitsu training center has opened in Fallon, bringing the Brazilian style of Jui-Jitsu to the valley. Dan and Kimberly Muller opened their training center in late July and already have a roster of students ready to learn.

The certified training center, or “Gracie Garage,” offers several programs for students of all ages and skill levels: Gracie Combatives is an adult beginner course to learn core techniques, Gracie Bullyproof includes four children’s groups focusing on non-violent self-defense techniques, the Women Empowered course is the official self-defense course for women, and the Master Cycle is an advanced program for students striving for a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.

Both Mullers have both practiced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 13 years. Dan earned the title Certified Instructor after a four-day intensive training in Torrance, Calif., where Gracie University is headquartered, earlier this year. “I really like the Gracie philosophy of how to train,” said Dan Muller.

The Gracie name indicates a standardized training method recognized worldwide. When students join a Gracie training center, they also gain members-only access to the online Gracie University, which offers videos for further practice at home or on the road.

Dan Muller is the Public Works Officer at NAS Fallon, and Kimberly is a veterinarian technician. They proudly state they have been a military family for 24 years and have called Fallon home for the past two.

Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Fallon offers training six days a week. The children’s Bullyproof classes are held Monday through Friday at 4:30 p.m., Gracie Combatives is offered Monday through Thursday at 6 p.m., and the women’s only class is held on Saturday at 9 a.m. Additional classes are held at 6 a.m. and on Saturdays. The training center is located at 5070 Reno Highway, Suite A, in the former furniture store building.

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family.
