In a press release issued Tuesday, the Churchill County School District announced that Trustee Tricia Strasdin submitted her resignation on Monday, April 29, 2024, effective immediately.

Due to her resignation, there is a vacancy on the school board. Details on filling the vacant trustee position will be released as they become available.

“We want to express our gratitude for the eight years Tricia Strasdin served as a member of the ChurchillCSD Board of Trustees. Her time, energy, and passion have been invaluable assets to our district, and we are grateful for her contributions during her tenure.”

“This was not an easy decision,” said Strasdin, “But one that I had considered when the deadline for re-election was approaching. Anybody that knows me, knows I’ve been working extremely hard on my master’s degree. And anybody who knows me knows I am passionate about education and Churchill County. In recent weeks, I learned that there is no ethical issue with me applying in Churchill County, provided I step away from the Board. So that’s what I did. I sincerely enjoyed my time on the Board, the experience I gained is invaluable. I’ll miss that work.  I am proud of the fact that I have been able to serve on the school board, commute every day to work “in the trenches,” and earn my master’s degree. It has always been my goal to pursue a position in administration.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
