CCSD Students Receive Visit from NASF EDO Attachment

CCSD Students Receive Visit from NASF EDO Attachment

Last week, continuing in their April celebration for the Month of the Military Child, presenters from NAS Fallon stopped in to share with Churchill County School District students at Lahontan Elementary School some cool things happening on base, particularly their EOD equipment.

EOD, or Explosive Ordnance Disposal, conducts sweep operations for unexploded ordnance utilizing all-terrain vehicles and helicopters on Fallon's Range Training Complex. Students learned about some of the equipment housed on the EOD truck.

During the visit, our students had the unique opportunity to interact with the equipment. They were able to see a bomb suit up close, which one of the presenters even put on for them. The highlight of the day was the robot demonstration, where they got to see firsthand the capabilities of EOD robots. This interactive experience made the visit truly unforgettable.

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family. May you be comforted to know that I care and I pray you will be comforted by your memories of Frank. Sincerely,Comment publication date: 4/30/26, 11:51 AMComment source: Frank Robert Kroll
