Pacific Division 7 National Open Race results from Top Gun Drag Strip
Submitted by Rebecca Stacey -- A great weekend of competition was to be found at Top Gun Drag Strip.  With over 100 contestants attending from Nevada, California and Arizona, nice weather and cool temperatures made for fast times both days of the event.  Cash prizes were given to Saturday race winners, with the inimitable Wally trophies being the dream for the winners of Sunday's event. Saturday's race results: In the Nor-Cal Top Comp class, we had 9 competitors. David Morgan of Concord, CA, was our champion.  Qualifying in the #2 position, he ran 6.791 seconds at 189.39 mph to beat out Terry White of Minden, NV, who ran 7.546 at 176.21. In the ET Bracket series, in Super Pro class we had 18 competitors. Troy Rainwater of Chino Valley, AZ, ran 8.183 at 162.98 mph, beating out Steve Schmid, from Minden, NV, who ran 10.228 at 149.78.  Both competitors had equal reaction times in the final round of .019 second.  Hannah Cook of Novato, CA was the #1 qualifier for the class. In the Pro class we had 16 competitors. Dennis Paz of Stockton, CA, driving  a 1965 El Camino, beat David Schnepp of Sparks, NV, driving a 1972 Vega.  Steve Tintinger of Sparks, NV, was the #1 qualifier for the class. In the Sportsman class we had 19 competitors. Nick Bublitz of Cotati, CA, driving a 2010 Corvette, beat Mike Holland of Truckee, CA, driving a '72 Maverick.  Dennis Bowman of Yuba City, CA, was the #1 qualifier. In the Motorcycle class we had 10 competitors. Tommy Brown of Fernley, NV, driving a 2001 Kawasaki, beat Gary Stoffer, of Gardnerville, NV, driving a 1998 Suzuki.  Gary was also the #1 qualifier. In the Jr. Dragster classes, we had over 71 competitors.  This event was a divisional event for them, with competitors from California, Arizona and Nevada coming to the high desert to compete.  In the Junior Comp class, which had 11 competitors, Kaitlyn Savolt, from Daimond Bar, CA, beat Tyler Smith, from Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  Kaitlyn was also the #1 qualifier. In the Junior Drags age 6-9 we had 11 competitors.  Jace Renoll of El Mirage, AZ, beat Adeline Porcho, of Bakersfield, CA.  Cole Gutierrez of Helendale, CA, was the #1 qualifier. In the age 10-12 we had 21 competitors.  Jacob Collins of Gilroy, CA, beat Jacob Hodges of Yucaipa, CA.  Kayslee Price of Las Vegas, NV was the #1 qualifier. In the age 13-14 we had 13 competitors.  Macie Gordon of Paso Robles, CA beat Madison Gordon also of Paso Robles, CA.  Jordan Rainwater of Chino Valley, AZ, was the # 1 qualifier. In the age 15-17 we had 15 competitors.  Michael Gidcumb of Riverside, CA, beat Keoki DeSa of North Las Vegas, NV, with Braden Bettis of DeLeon, TX being the #1 qualifier. Sunday's Race results: In the Top Comp class we had 11 competitors.  John Rolandelli of Oakley, CA, beat Terry White of Minden, NV.  John was also the #1 qualifier. In Super Comp we had 13 competitors.  Justin Morgan of Concord, CA, beat Keith Winters of Las Vegas, NV.  Pete Cerda of Sacramento, CA, was the #1 qualifier. In Super Gas we had 10 competitors.  Mark Fenton of Helendale, CA, beat Jim Spernak of Marysville, CA.  Jim Schmid of Gardnerville, NV, was the #1 qualifier. In Super Street we had 5 competitors.  Joe Janusch of Orangevale, CA, beat Anthony Broussard of Somerset, CA.  Joe was also the #1 qualifier. In Super Stock/Stock combo we had 16 competitors.  Dennis Paz of Stockton, CA, beat Rich Pinoski of Placerville, CA.  Steve Valkanoff of South San Francisco, CA, was the #1 qualifier. In Jr Comp we had 11 competitors.  Sydney Copping of Placerville, CA, beat Tyler Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  Myka Lopez of Madera, CA, was the #1 qualifier. In Jr drags age 6-9 we had 10 competitors.  Troy Barton of Norwalk, CA, beat Blaine DeNunzio of Corona, CA.  Wigley Lloyd of Las Vegas, NV, was the #1 qualifier. In Jr drags 10-12 we had 21 competitors.  Kade Renoll of El Mirage, AZ, beat Paige Smith of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.  Jessica Boardman of Las Vegas, NV, was the #1 qualifier. In Jr drags 13-14 we had 13 competitors.  Drake Padgett of Santa Paula, CA, beat Macie Gordon of Paso Robles, CA.  Kyle Rapozo of Lihue, HI, was the #1 qualifier. In Jr drags 15-17 we had 16 competitors.  Tabitha Boardman of Las Vegas, NV, beat Braden Bettis of DeLeon, TX.  Braden was also the #1 qualifier. In the ET Bracket series, we had 53 competitors overall, with some competing in multiple classes.  In the Super Pro class we had 12 competitors. Fallon's own Lonnie Grace beat Troy Rainwater of Chino Valley, AZ.  Tom Brown of Gardnerville, NV was the #1 qualifier. In the Pro ET class we had 14 competitors. Nick Bublitz of Cotati, CA, beat "Papa" Tom Brown of Sun Valley, NV.  Eric Doukas of Fallon, NV was the #1 qualifier. In the Sportsman ET class we had 19 competitors. Nick Bublitz of Cotati, CA beat Dave Dubose of Reno, NV.  Philip Sabatino of Fallon, NV was the #1 qualifier. In the Motorcycle ET class we had 8 competitors.  Josh Bolt of Fallon, NV beat Dominic Davis, also of Fallon, NV.  Zach Clarke of Dayton, NV was the #1 qualifier. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.)
