Councilwoman Kent Seeks Re-election for City Council Seat

Councilwoman Kent Seeks Re-election for City Council Seat
Karla Kent.

Submitted by Karla Kent

I have enjoyed being your representative. My focus has always been and will continue to be on the citizens of Fallon and those in Ward 2. I have always been accessible to you and have always made every effort to respond to you with information regarding your concerns, suggestions, and questions. To be honest, it was through you reaching out to me that I learned the most. I understand my fiduciary responsibilities to you.

During my term, we have made many street improvements, improved Oat’s Park with the pickleball courts and splash pad, along with this year’s Fallon on Ice ice skating rink to compliment our hometown Christmas celebration throughout December, and many other projects.

I am the owner of Kent’s Supply Center, and I believe my business background helps round the council.
I serve on numerous boards, some in my position as City Councilwoman and others through my community involvement, including the Fallon Community Theatre, CARTS, Coalition for Senior Citizens, City of Fallon Audit Committee, and City of Fallon Cyber Security Council. I am also a member of the Rotary Club of Fallon and PEO International.

I make sure I stay apprised and educated on all items that come before the council. Now that I have learned the operations, state controls and so many other things about the way the City of Fallon works, I can hit the ground running in a second term.

If I am successful in my election for councilwoman, I will remain accessible to the community as we continue to maintain, improve, and promote Fallon.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
