Blakey Announces for Commission District 3
Eric Blakey

To: Citizens of Churchill County

My name is Eric Blakey, and I would like to take this opportunity to announce my candidacy for the seat of Churchill County Commissioner, District #3.

I have been a citizen of Churchill County since 1996 and have engaged with the community along the way through many different avenues such as;

• Past Member of the Churchill County Youth Softball Association, serving as a Board Member & President for many years

• Retired Member of the Fallon-Churchill Fire Department with 20 years of service, during my career I held the positions of Firefighter, Captain, & Assistant Chief

• Current Chairman of the Churchill County Planning Commission, serving 6 plus years

• Current Member of the Churchill County Federal Credit Union Board of Directors

Churchill County is changing at a fast pace and now is the time for our community to have the right leadership to help our Citizens navigate through these times together for the best outcome for all, while preserving our heritage, agriculture needs, protecting our water resources, and managing growth in housing, both traditional & affordable as it comes our way.

These are just a few of my ideals and why we need great representation. I believe I’m a strong, viable candidate to balance both the economic and physical growth of Churchill County as we move forward into the future, I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.

Best Regards,

Eric Blakey

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
