NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held in the Churchill County Administrative Complex, 155 North Taylor Street, County Commission Chambers, Fallon, Nevada, at approximately 8:15 AM on Thursday, January 4, 2024, on the proposed Ordinance:

Bill 2023-B, Ordinance No. 7, an ordinance adding sections 3.12.024 (Pregnancy, Childbirth, and Related Medical Conditions) and 3.12.026 (Reasonable Accommodation for Victims of Domestic Violence or Sexual Assault), and modifying sections 3.32.140 (Standby) and 3.36.050 (Holidays), of Title 3 of the Churchill County Code for those employees under the direct and indirect jurisdiction of the Board of County Commissioners to the extent of the laws permitted by the State of Nevada.

If you cannot attend the meeting, written comments may be submitted to the Clerk/Treasurer’s Office, 155 N Taylor St, Suite 110, Fallon, NV 89406, before 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. A copy of the ordinance is on file and available for public inspection at the Churchill County Clerk/Treasurer’s Office. A scanned copy of the ordinance will be posted on December 28, 2023 with the Agenda Packet on the county’s website at https://www.churchillcountynv.gov/1081/Agendas-Minutes.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing.
