The Fallon Chamber of Commerce recently held a ribbon cutting for the Rustoration Garage, hosted by the Alley Bar at the Oasis Bowling Alley. Ron and Lora Seagraves run Rustoration Garage and are the ringleaders of Fallon Cars N Coffee, held every third Saturday during the warmer months.

They specialize in restoring old cars and trucks into “rat rods.” A rat rod is known today as a custom car with a deliberately worn-down, unfinished appearance, typically lacking paint, showing rust, and made from cheap or cast-off parts.

Ron explained that they have a garage at their place out at Skyridge Estates and plan to rent out lift space for other car enthusiasts who need a spot to work on their car projects.

Ron and Lora also ran the car show for the Cantaloupe Festival, this year doubling the number of cars exhibited and they have even bigger plans for next year. “We’ll be even bigger next year and have plans to have cars from 1980 and newer in the back, and ’80 and older toward the front,” said Ron.

They also have a strong social media following and sell online merchandise on their website rustorationgarage.net, where there is an assortment of t-shirts, hats, and coffee mugs for the auto enthusiast.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
