After significant damage from June rainstorms, Top Gun Dragstrip recently released information that they are ready to race again. Officials report that the track has been cleaned, the pit has been repaired, and the timing system has been restored to NHRA and Compulink standards.
Work continues on the well, but arrangements have been made with the City of Fallon and Churchill County for the water needed to supply the Saturday race and for upcoming events.
Top Gun expresses appreciation for the ongoing support during this challenging season. “We couldn’t have done it without you,” writes Top Gun management, “This track will continue to work forward to provide a save and enjoyable racing experience for everyone.”
On August 12, Top Gun is hosting their “$5 Saturday” race.” Gates open at 3 p.m. with an open test and tune from 6 p.m. to midnight. Summit Points racers and other racers participating in ET bracket racing should look out for a special announcement regarding the September 15-17 event.
Join The Fallon Post and Les Schwab on September 10 for a car show fundraiser at Les Schwab Tires to support Top Gun as they continue to repair the water and property damage. Sponsors include Summit Racing, Wild West Burgers, Fallon Speedway Market, The Alley Bar, and Camacho Auto Sales. Top Gun announcer Davy Munoz will be MCing the event. They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
